Our Featured On-line Social Community of the Week: TeeBeeDee

I hope your St. Patrick’s Day was grand. I plan to visit our local Irish Community Center for an afternoon of Irish step dancing, singing and various activities for the kids. In the spirit of the holiday I’ve identified a wonderful article by one of the staff writers at TeeBeeDee “Getting Your Irish Up, Ye Olde Irish Car Bomb”

I have to admit, I really like this site. One of my prerequisites to joining any on-line community is the amount of information they require at initial sign-up. As a general rule, I only enroll in communities that request a user name and password. TeeBeeDee is the place for people over 40 who believe that life is still “to be determined.” You can feel comfortable learning from others, sharing what you know, and connecting with people who want to keep on growing.

Articles: You’ll find interesting articles highlighted on the home page. Most are written by Staff Writers and a few community members are selected from time to time.

Discussion Groups: There are currently over 409 discussion groups. I started one of my own Turning 50 and Moving On. Stop by and leave a few points of wisdom that we all might benefit from. Maybe you have some insights to share on Marriage in the Mid Life. Over 187 members have left their opinion on Marriage after 50. I am sure you won’t agree with all them. I am sure you can find a group with similar interest and I want to encourage you to stop by.

Questions: Looking for answers? Pose a question to the entire community. You’ll find that opinions are forthcoming, so don’t be too surprised by the responses you receive.

Interests: TBD makes it really easy to meet people with similar interest. I recommend filling out your profile with all the things you love to do - Stain Glass Painting, Carpentry, etc. Be as thorough as possible and you’ll find people seeking you out to discuss any array of topics. Be sure to come back to Flipside Journey and let me know how it turned out.

TeeBeeDee Community Guide: Finally, make sure you stop by and read the community guide. All communities are defined by rules and it is important to understand how they expect you to Play and Be Safe.

I thought, I’d close my article with a quote from he one of SherriDevines most recent postings, “Stay away from the Irish Coffee. We used to joke that this cocktail contained all 4 food groups: alcohol, sugar, caffeine and fat. But I’ve found at my age this combination is lethal and a horrible night of tossing and turning will ensue. You’ve been warned.” SherriDevine, Staff Writer, TBD has written over 45 articles for the community. Be sure to stop by and introduce yourself.
