I have to admit - the tools portion of social networking is not as easy as I'd hope. I've spent about $500 trying to launch a site using Joomla and have not been successful. I attended Joomla University and highlighy recommend taking the course before launching with the tools. I think you'll discover there are sites to find help at relatively low costs. Here is what I've learned - try to use these tools out of the box as much as possible. Don't try and get to fancy. I am going to post a follow-up article on what I've learned to date. The fact is, I am not a programmer - just a marketing manager trying to learn how to apply this technology without spending $100s of thousands of dollars. I am about to start a networking site that i believe would be expensive. I am hoping not but it is in the liunes of facebook. I own the domain but i do not know where to go after the site is up. who can consult me from start to finish? i am also not just pulling this out of the air but have strong intentions of starting soon.
